Warranty Policies and User Manual

In this manual you will find information regarding product specifications, assembly, maintenance and use instructions, which will allow you to enjoy your tire with the greatest durability and performance.

We are available to clarify any additional questions.

Important 01
a) The Reinf marking, if present, means a tire with a reinforced structure suitable for the load capacity;
b) Before assembling, check whether there is any indication of the direction of travel on the tire sidewall, as assembling in the wrong direction will cause anomalies in the use, compromising the safety, performance and durability of the tire.

CHOOSE YOUR TIRE CORRECTLY

Always choose tires with dimensions indicated in your motorcycle's Owner's Manual, as the manufacturer will indicate the most suitable product in terms of size, design, load and speed ratings, among other specifications.

Important 02
In order to maintain the original characteristics of the motorcycle, we recommend using tires that comply with the characteristics listed in the Owner's Manual, such as: dimensions, load index, speed index and recommended application.

TABLE - SPEED INDEX

TABLE - LOAD INDEX

Ex.: 90/90-18 M/C 57P REINF.
Speed Index: P=150 Km/h
Load Index: 57=230 Kg

Important 03
Avoid using tires of different brands and models on the front and rear of the motorcycle, as this procedure can cause discomfort when driving, as well as affect the balance between the front and rear axles on both dry and wet surfaces.

USE AND MAINTENANCE

Storage

1- Temperature: store tires at a stable room temperature, without major variations (extremes). Keep tires away from sunlight or heat sources, as this will prevent premature aging;
2- Oil and Gasoline: prolonged contact with oil and gasoline affects the rubber compound, making the tire unfit for use. Do not use any tire that has been exposed to oil, gasoline, corrosives or liquids that are not compatible with rubber;
3- Humidity: avoid humidity and water inside the tire;
4- Storage: ndo not store tires randomly (stacked in large quantities, tied, twisted, etc.), as they may suffer deformations in the tread, compromising their structure. In the case of tubeless tires, leakage may also occur due to irreversible deformation of the beads. The appropriate storage position is vertically, supported on two points, one next to the other;
5- Ozone: do not store tires in the presence of electric motors. High ozone concentration accelerates tire aging.
Assembly and Disassembly

1- They must be carried out by qualified professionals, using appropriate tools and processes;
2- The wheels/rims must be suitable for the tire size and be in perfect condition;
3- TUBE TYPE tires = with inner tube, devem ser montados com Câmaras de Ar novas;
4- TUBELESS tires = without inner tube, must be assembled with new inner tube;
5- The use of petroleum-based lubricants, such as vaseline, for, example, is not recommended for assembling tires and inner tubes;
6- The tires must be clean, internally and externally, before assembling. In the case of tires with inner tubes, internal cleaning is essential, as any dirt, such as sand or small stones, will puncture the inner tube;
7- Important - Before assembling the tires, it must be checked whether the load and speed indexes are appropriate for the motorcycle model, always in accordance with the specifications in the Owner's Manual, provided by the manufacturer.

Calibrations

1- Always follow the pressure recommendations set out in the Owner's Manual, provided by the motorcycle manufacturer..
2- Check the tire pressure at least every two weeks, using suitable pressure gauges.
3- The pressure should always be checked when the tires are cooled.

Important 04
A- Never check the pressure when the tires are hot, in other words, right after driving;
B- Check for air leaks through the valve base/core;
C- Always use valve caps, as they prevent pressure loss and keep the valve core free from dirt.

Incorrect air pressure causes irregular wear of tire

Wear Indicators - TWI (Tread Wear Indicator)

EIn compliance with CONTRAN Resolution No. 558 of 04/15/1980 and as determined by INMETRO Ordinance No. 379/2021 – item 7.6.4: Tread wear indicators must visually warn when the depths of the corresponding tread cavities are reduced to 0.8 mm.
Therefore, tires must be replaced when the wear indicated by the T.W.I. is reached.

Balancing

Process used to adjust the static and dynamic balance of the tire/wheel assembly. It should be performed:
1- When tires are replaced;
2- When repairs are made to tires and inner tubes;
3- When vibrations occur;
4- After replacing: brake pads, wheel bearings, suspension parts, among other elements of the undercarriage;

Important 05
Motorcycles with streaked wheels >> always check the tension and condition of the rays periodically, eliminating any radial and lateral eccentricities.

During movement, avoid

1- Risky driving, skidding, sudden braking and starting;
2- Impacts on sidewalks, holes, bridge ends and obstacles on the road;
3- Loads and speeds higher than those indicated on the tire (according to load and speed index tables);
4- Long stops over petroleum products.

Repair

1- Whenever a tire is punctured, it must be assessed by a qualified professional, who will be able to determine whether the tire is in a condition to be repaired.

Off-Road Line

1- Off-Road tires cannot be used on paved roads.

Removing wax from the tire surface

During tire manufacturing, products are used to help remove the tire from the mold, leaving residues that must be removed during the first 100 km. This residue affects the tire's grip on the ground, both in dry and wet conditions. Therefore, during this period, it is recommended to:

1- Ride with the utmost care and attention, avoiding sudden maneuvers, acceleration, braking and sudden inclinations, in accordance with the safe riding recommendations described in the motorcycle manual and current legislation.

ATENTION

Failure to follow the recommendations described above may result in:
1- Localized damage or damage to the circumference of the tread;
2- Breakage of the casing canvas, causing deformations on the sidewalls (“bubbles”);
3- Partial or total disintegration of the tire structure;
4- Porosity/deformations;
5- Loss of grip may result in falls.

Tire Disposal and Recycling

CONAMA Resolution No. 258 establishes that unusable tires must be disposed of in an environmentally appropriate manner. If not disposed of properly, used tires can become breeding grounds for mosquitoes and, because they have a long life cycle, it takes years to degrade, which can pose a serious risk to health and the environment.
Help to protect the environment:
1- Do not leave tires in open spaces;
2- Leave used tires removed from your vehicle at the store where you exchange them, so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally correct manner.
IRA TIRES has a partnership with the Reciclanip program, which implements the collection and proper disposal of used/unusable tires. For more information, visit:
